Managing PDF files is something a lot of people do on a daily basis and they are desperate for a tool which can provide all features they need to get the job done. Regular PDF readers enable you to view a PDF file and eventually add text, signatures, or comments. However, it appears that PDFZilla offers even more.
PDFZilla is a PDF management tool which mostly serves as a one-way converter from PDF to Word, Excel, TXT, HTML, or SWF. Only PDF to image converting is available in both directions. Other features include a PDF Merger, Cutter, and Rotator.
Buying a single PDFZilla license sets you back $50 but it's often on a sale where you can get it for $30. You can download the demo version to try the program out but it only does 50% of any action you undertake. Still, paying for a quality product is not an issue for most professional users if it's going to satisfy their needs. Unfortunately, PDFZilla lacks in some aspects.
First of all, it's lacking two-way conversions between formats besides images. Even though many other programs allow you to convert other formats to PDF, it would be nice to have it all in one place. The PDF Merger, Cutter, and Rotator options are simple enough and they work as expected.
The conversion is however sometimes lacking in quality. Converting to any format sometimes almost completely ruins the appearance of the document. Text is scattered to random places and images from the PDF aren't even recognizable. Apart from that, there are also very limited settings to tweak except selecting pages and image quality.
• You can convert your PDF file to many different formats
• Merging, cutting, and rotating your PDF file is useful and easy
• Lacking a PDF viewer
• Only one-way conversion for almost all file formats (from PDF to other formats)
• Conversion sometimes scatters text and ruins images
